Some maps are more suited to specific matches, others are more general purpose. douze is a traditional map, it first appeared in the original Cube1, was ported to Cube2 (Sauerbraten) and finally reworked for AssaultCube (all by it's original author: makkE). It's not the fault of the game if a server-owner doesn't put in correct limits on the map-rotation and most definitely not if it's voted onto a server too full for the map. Imagine ac_arid with 20 players - the map is just too small for it. CTF on douze wasn't the best choice - as I've heard makkE acknowledge himself - but it was a natural one; it just doesn't work if the players aren't exactly right. Meaning both number and skill-level.
This is - IMHO - actually a tangent off the whole "too few maps" discussion .. and, if I might say so, the tendency of players to flock to the servers with many players. AssaultCube is more geared towards matches of 3-on-3, 4-on-4 and 5-on-5.
But since players often join a game 3 minutes before it's end and immediately start voting .. but then leave 4 minutes into the game "of their choice" .. well .. public gaming in AssaultCube is a very ambivalent experience.
In the end the original poster in this thread has been stabbing (unsuccessfuly) at a lot of aspects of AC, so I'm guessing two things: A) it's a male B) in his early years of puberty .. it's just too much "want", not enough "cool" and definitely no experience in any of the matters pertaining to a project like AssaultCube .. basically: exactly one of the people that come in half-way into a match and leave a couple of minutes before it ends - if you can't master this game, you're free to try other projects!
