I will not say I know why there are so few player atm, but it's probably not because of the game being "too balanced". If I play in a pub I have 99.9% chance of winning a duel vs a new/average player  so I think the game is still kind of elitist.
Of course we'd all like to get back to the period of 104 with all the life in the game, but I think It'll never happen (Getting the game on steam maybe ? :] )
