i would also like to rework the menus so that (through the menus) you can only select certain maps in certain modes (making it impossible to vote dm ac_desert3 through the menus, for instance).

I did it in the match client already. The list of allowed combinations is set in a client AND server config file. One can release an alternative client list but it would only work on servers with the matching configuration - which is helpful for tournaments which would possibly have different map pools.

You need to detail the chnages to ingress and other maps please - with screenshots - otherwise its too vague
