hello, thank you for permitting me the opportunity to tell you all about my great plans.
i would like to fix many of the problems associated with many of the maps in AC at the moment. for example, me and Z3R0 have been working at fixing many of the problems on ac_ingress. ac_ingress is not particularly enjoyable to play at times due to the amount of clutter that creates awkward angles. we have rectified many of the issues on the map without hurting the core gameplay (as atrocious as it is). i would like to extend my revolution to other maps which require more attention and greater changes (such as urban and werk, for instance). to prevent creating changes that people dislike, i will do my best to get sufficient community input before actually committing the final finished product. i am not perfect so it is more than likely that i might change something that i shouldn't.
the position of lead mapping developer will also allow me to divide maps into competitive and public (crap) maps with community input on these matters. i would also like to rework the menus so that (through the menus) you can only select certain maps in certain modes (making it impossible to vote dm ac_desert3 through the menus, for instance).
this position would also permit me to review community maps for inclusion into the official package, which as of the current nobody seems intent on doing currently (and nobody has ever actually done it properly).
i do have other more revolutionary plans, but they would require the assistance of other developers (such as the inclusion of gemas into the official package, but this would require master-server tabs to implement correctly).
i acknowledge that this role isn't a particularly tiresome role, in comparison that of a lead coder, for instance, but i believe that my efforts would improve AC.
