And how many of those would stick around? you can read a thread about quake's debut to steam on esreality, and the net gain of players isn't incredibly promising, although it's incredibly significant for a game/community as small as AC (it's worth noting that in this thread, the reason they're talking about "old players leaving" is because there were significant and unpopular gameplay changes that coincided with quake's valve venture and it caused a huge uproar).
For the record I also support AC on steam (just allow people to use the standalone client like they can now as well), but I just don't think it's the answer to everything. And also I don't understand why people are voting for "nothing can be done" in the poll, such pessimists.
