I've never read the book, but the film is exploitative and I don't recommend it. However, it does focus more on the aftermath of the tragedy and the emotional toll attached. Watch this Reign Over Me instead imo.
But that's a digression. RIP to all of those who have been affected by the tragedy. It's a topic you do not show irreverence to, and those people that do are the reasons people lose hope in humanity. It still rings loudly, directly with people around my way in the Northeast US, and there will still be those deeply affected for many years to come.
RIP, and also thank you to those who volunteered and showed support in some way in the days/months/years following the tragedy
