In my opinion frags ARE important in a CTF match. If a team plays with that mentality against any other skilled team and simply goes for flags it's very likely it won't work. Why? Because what's one of the easiest ways to get the flag from the enemy base? Overpower them in frags; therefore, make it harder for them to play their style. Which leads to the situation where you enclose them in their base and get a flag.
