after compiling wont shoot

Hi i decided to download the assault cube source because i am learning c++ and I want to see how c++ is used in assault cube but when ever i compile and replace the original exe when i load the game it will not shoot only the grenade and knife functions work. Ive done it with a brand new unedited source code using visual basic 2010 express.

P.S the command line keeps saying protocol.cpp and the compiled exe is bigger than the original one
