Servers don't let me download custom maps. I think it may have something to do with write protection, but I can manually download maps from site then place them in the AC folder. It comes up in on-screen 'cannot write to /*whatever*, cannot read /*whatever*. It's really frustrating as I can only play on the official maps. Anyone have any ideas?

Probably a permissions issue, what operating system?

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I'm using AC v1.1.0.4.

I'm guessing it has to do with folder/file "ownership" in Win 7, does your system have multiple user accounts?

No, I'm the only one and have admin status.

Weird, have you double checked that you have proper permissions on your /packages/maps/ folder?

Done what the article says, but it's still not working.
OK, figured it out, I just allowed 'All Users' to have full control. Still quite weird that it wasn't working before though. Thanks for the help. It must not recognise me as an admin when I'm playing AC.
