My first published "serious" map (second attempt)...
It is meant to be played mainly as a DM and TKTF map but it can also be fun on CTF (each team will probably score 30 flags). I tried to make it sort of like an abandoned archaeological site but idk how well that worked lol.
It should be a pretty good map to train on. The boxes provide good cover and make the enemy practice is accuracy. Have fun :3

Just first impressions (not a thorough review -- I loaded the map and looked at it for like 2 minutes)
My review:
I really like the architecture and geometry of this map; you did well varying the elevation of areas to make use of the Cube engine's geometry limitations. There are, however some textures in the official package for "stair ledges" and I'm disappointed you chose not to use them.
You varied the box textures a bit, but I think it'd be more realistic (or at least more visually appealing) to have different kind of boxes in a single area (it seems you sort of subsidized them)
There are only eight lights in this map -- some places are really dark. I'd make sure you're gamma is on the default setting when making maps, and experiment with lights with really lower values.
I see potential here for cool lighting effects but all of your lights are white with unvarying brightness. You mentioned an archaeological site, which in my mind is a pretty dry place -- I'd expect lights with more red and green than blue.
There is one less CLA spawn point than RVSF. RVSF's spawns all seem to be facing a wall or corner, too, whereas CLA has spawns facing outward and less likely to be side-swiped.
Even being mere first impressions, by apologies on the TLDR. I'm sure upon further review some more gameplay related opinions could go your way.

i liked this review a lot. since it is still early in the game for me and mapping, i don't know mamy tricks. i didn't even know spawn points could face a wrong way lol (i thought you were faced in a random direction each time). i know im not great on the realistic part. and yes, after going over it again, the lighting is uh.....not good...we'll say that. taking this review into mind i think i'm going to spend the next week fixing it. ty for the pointers :P

I agree with Felix that it's a bit dark. It's kind of difficult to move around because of all the obstacles - but I'm sure that's how it was intended. Good job.

so is this just because I showed you up in another thread and you're pissed or do you seriously believe this? if so, please give me a full review with pros and cons and how you scored it. i'm interested.
if it's a joke, dude, then that's cool by me. i don't mind humor and you can ignore my next comment.
if you mean it as an insult and/or cannot provide a sufficient review, well then...would you like to buy a vowel?

It's a pretty simple map, both in terms of size and "mapping tricks."
Though that ^^ isn't necessarily a bad thing, as it's a pretty nice map overall.
I'll be more generous than bugboy: 75/100

Note that I havent played the map (yet) , but I follow my instincts!

thanks man. im not really trying to make it a detailed map. it's supposed to look relatively the as an official map but it's meant for accuracy training for than aesthetics

and thanks again but im not sure if it earns that much though. Felix has got some crucial points and it's gotta go through some major repairs to earn a decent grade :P
my grade: 55/100 (lol it took me only about 4 hrs over the couse of three days to build it)
