where do you save new guns to?

Hey,
so I'm sorry if this question has been covered before and I just missed it when I searched it, but what file do you save guns to when you download them? I tried downloading an AK-47 and saving it under assaultcube/packages/models/guns, but when i played solo or multiplayer the gun didn't show up in the guns menu. What's up?

also, is there any large online collection of guns all in one place to download?

thanks man! but where are you supposed to download the files to? and are you supposed to put the entire folder wherever it goes, or do you extract everything out of it, or what?

Long story short:
It needs to be unpackaged in your \mods\ folder, in a file structure otherwise identical to the weapon you are modding.
Example:
To mod the assault rifle, you look at its directory structure:
[AssaultCube home folder]\packages\models\weapons\assault

So the assault rifle mod should be unpackaged under
[AssaultCube home folder]\mods\packages\models\weapons\assault
