Well, I was going through the sourceforge project thing when I fond a downoad tool thing. I was quite surprised to find that AssaultCube had been downloaded 17,000 times in 5 days. So I naturall scrolled the dates back to 2004 to see downloads for all time.
This is what I found.
Anyway, congratulations on crossing 5 million and I think we deserve a party :P
EDIT: Gone are the days of me thinking barely 2000 people played assaultcube.

i wander what happened toward the end of 2009 that made the downloads jump so high.
Top dowloaded country: Brazil. No surprises there...

The company claimed that the game stage that the court used as a reason to ban the sale was cs_rio and that was in fact produced by fans, not available in the original game. However, the judge Silva Costa won and the game is banned to be sold

I think that if there would be a page where you could see who downloaded it, you would find that half of it was by me because one time I had problems and kept re-installing it, in one day i might've hit those 1,000 :P

yeah, installer downloads doesn't correspond very well with actual users, though it is still a nice figure to look at. Probably a better figure you could use to judge the overall amount of players would the the number of individual connects in a day (or over a couple days)
But still, big number is big :D

On the graphic we can clearly see the 1.0, the 1.0.4 and the 1.1.
Btw: 100% of brasillians players (like all [ED] members) are playing on Europeans servers and that's starting to be VERY annoying.
Please, allow the maxping on the next release. :/

Its a pub...stop crying you baby...Maxping wont happen because this game is made for slow connections (like mine) Go play a game where there will not be any laggers if you have a problem with it here.

maxping won't happen, no. Maybe /nodialup though...
There were ~6800 unique master server connections on 5 November.

I don't speak about slow connections.
I'm just saying that (for example) on this screenshot a lot of people should go on another server (certainly away from europe).
I'm not racist or anything related to this, i just want to play on a server where i have a decent ping with players who have decents pings too.

Ok i would agree with you if somebody had like 400+ ping but 200-300....really? We all dont live in the same house and will not get the same ping...also Euro servers are the main ones populated with decent map+mode combinations

There were over 10000 connections yesterday, but some came from the same place. Unique is a best guess at the number of individual players who received the master server list.

Is it that by ruling out the ones from the same IP you get 6800?

Exodus, can you take your complaints to another thread? This thread is about the 5.4 million downloads made. It's not our fault we don't all live in Europe, and not just because we don't does it mean we can't play in European servers.

Nonsense, there is a very solid CS scene in Brazil. The country adopts, as US and Europe, a classification system, no movie, game or music are banned from being commercialised, there is only some restriction to where it can be sold and who can consume them. There are plenty of stupid judges giving lame sentences left and right and all of them get overthrow by the Supreme Court. If you want reliable facts, wikipedia is not the place to go.
Brazilians likes AC caus is awesome and free, period!

Once again you didn't read the quote just before this true sentence.

What about all the players getting different IP addresses, therefore whenever they re-DL AC, they have a new ip?
