How to find clan impersonators quickly?

One time I was walking and all of a sudden this vote came up to ban this guy. The reason was because he was pretending to be in [BOPE] (the name doesn't matter). How do people find out so quickly that they're not in that clan?

The clan rosters of big clans are public and common knowledge, and people in clans will usually know everyone in it.

Yes, but not usually in n00b clans, such as [BOPE], Ku$h|, and other crappy clans. I really don't pay attention, and let the dude pretend.

Elven, it you shouldn't call other clans "Crappy" on a public forum...
Unless it's a Brazilian clan... jk...maybe. There's generally a list of members on the clan website

BOPE may be a well known clan, that doesn't mean I'm going to go check their website/forum everyday to look for imposters and crap.

The point of my thread was, if the clan is enough of a well-known clan, then it should be obvious whether or not someone with the tag is a part of the clan.
There are also some helpful questions, such as: Who tested you? Who voted you in? What is the website? Any member should know at least TWO of these questions, as I'm sure there are more questions that could be used as proof
Any member should know Q#3, if they don't then you know they're an imposter.

Some people use those crappy long named websites. *Cough*Weebly*Cough* ;) I was never able to memorize iC's website.
