windows ac on linux question - Milandrag - 25 Nov 11 today i tried a funny thing i installed windows AC on my ubuntu 11.10 with wine and it seems like im getting more FPS than on linux version... it's a bit strange.... could any1 explain me how this is possible? RE: windows ac on linux question - hamolton - 25 Nov 11 Woah lol. Unless it's something wierd like low /maxfps levels or v-sync or something, I think it could do with ubuntu effects. back before my ubuntu partion quit botting, i would always log off and turn off 3d effects before i played. Maybe the ubuntu effects are colliding with the game-Wine might be more independent of the OS than the linux version. There's a bunch of stuff you can do to turn off fancy stuff in the OS, even turn off the graphics in the OS, if FPS levels are important. RE: windows ac on linux question - Milandrag - 25 Nov 11 no fps levels aren't important since on both "ways" they are over 75 so playable without a lag and havin vsync 1 i was just wondering how this is even possible ^^ RE: windows ac on linux question - Kosta - 26 Nov 11 There is many small things that can effect it. Drivers, implementation etc. I see Wine makers did a great job, useful, powerful and important tool :) RE: windows ac on linux question - FleshyPod - 26 Nov 11 Everything on Wine seems to run a bit slower than native ones. It can be because of conversion or emulation of win32 on linux core that using some of processing power. |
