You have to be accepted by the clan, and then you can use their tag. The "List of Recruiting Clans" is here to tell people which clans are looking for new members. But you still have to contact the clan, probably pass a test etc. Falsly using a tag ( tag-abuse ) can be a motive to ban/blacklist you. Then again maybe i misunderstood you.

Words in the English dictionary are free to use, sorry if you are a bit peeved but let's be honest, you use Fluttershy in AC when you play once in a blue moon vanq.
You are known as Vanquish in sauer so I don't see it as a problem, believe it or not I did take you consideration but as I have stated before, you are not as active within AC anymore and I thought it wouldn't effect you to a terrible extent. Sorry if you feel like I'm ripping you off, but I feel that the clan has the right to use the word just like anyone ( with no malicious intent ) has the right to use it.

I'm known as Vanquish in both games, I use aliases in Sauer too, the same way you changed your name from "Chocolate" to "Vanilla", it means nothing. you can literally see my forum name is vanquish, if you were ever present on ts3 and/or IRC you would see i'm using that name there too.
Also on this thread I posted one image taken from a meme, if I was offended or something I'd have spoken to you privately about it. I just wanted to poke fun at you and your ridiculous methodology for choosing a clan name.
