I get pissed off when shooting!

Hi all,
everytime I shoot the character moves back, it's like a man can't control his gun lol. Is it a problem with ac or not?

This is the actual force exerted by the gun, this is normal, real normal.

No. Thats just the guns recoil.
Try using it to your advantage! If you run backwards while firing you move crazy quick..

This exactly. Use the recoil to your advantage! You can 'rifle sprint', which makes your character move at much faster speeds. You can also 'rifle jump' and reach higher places than you could normally jumping.

yeah but you dont need recoil on an smg. its irritating in real life you wouldnt be doing that

Have you ever shot with a real smg?

Some smg have recoil and some not.

ALL GUNS have recoil. Some particular models have more than others. Like that chick on youtube who knocked herself out with a pistol.

AC isn't aiming to provide realistic gun mechanics. If you want that, go play Receiver. The only promise AC makes about realism is that it is a realistic environment. Nothing else.

The recoil is actually a unique and fun aspect to the game. If you have the AR or SMG, try playing CTF and when you get the flag, run backwards while shooting. You can capture a flag on shine in probably ~2 seconds that way.

True, that's why we (smg and AR players) love this game =)

ΣF=ma=0
https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index...904AAeTwIu
Quote:400-475 m/s, with a bullet weight of ~16-22 grams.
Because I'm lazy, let's assume that the bullet achieves 400m/s after 1 m (.

Again, because i'm lazy I'm going to pull equations from http://www.physicsclassroom.com/class/1D...-Equations :
[Image: U1L6a1.gif]
vf^2=vi^2+2ad
(400m/s)^2=0^2+2a(1)
160000m^2/s^2=a*(1m)
80000m/s^2=a
16g=16/1000 kg = 0.016kg (Newton = kg*m/s^2)
The force exerted onto the bullet from the rifle is
F=ma=0.016*80000=1280N

That means that there is 1280N acting on your body (since you started with ΣF=ma=0)
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_does_a_10..._feel_like
Feels like you got 22 pounds thrown at you 10 times, or so I can tell.

But wait. We're talking SMGs and this is a SMG: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heckler_%26_Koch_MP5. Let's look at some data (http://www.notoo7.com/smg1.html):

Quote:
Heckler&Koch MP5 (Germany)
Data, MP5.
Caliber: 9x 19mm
Action: Retarded blowback
Overall length: 49/68cm (collapsed/extended)
Barrel length: 22cm
Weight: 2.540kg empty, 2.710kg loaded/30rds.
Muzzle velocity: 400m/s (1312fps).
Muzzle energy: 637 J (470 ft/lb)
Cyclic rate of fire: select-fire, 700 rpm

Same velocity, let's say shorter distance? (Sorry I have no gun knowledge. I am neither an expert at guns or a hobbyist of any sort). At least 400 is what we chose last time:

vf^2=vi^2+2ad
(400m/s)^2=0^2+2a(0.22)
160000m^2/s^2=a*(0.22m)
727273m/s^2=a
Since loaded with 30 rounds = 2.710, and empty = 2.540
We can assume that each round weighs (2.710-2.540)/30=0.00566666666kg
F=ma=0.00566666666*727273=4121.21366182 N
... so hurts more than a pistol. But WAIT. that's per bullet. This thing can take 30 rounds and shoot 700 rpm. Damn.
So... let's say you decide to empty the clip into that CLA mofo that just rolled around the corner.

30 rounds * 1/(700 rounds/min)=0.04285714285minutes, or 2.57143 seconds.

In those 2.5 seconds... I'm pretty sure you just got thrown back.
