How do you switch between? How do you become a ghost so u can just chat or call a vote on something without getting shot or being kicked because of "lagging"???

You can't. When players "ghost" they are lagging. If you could toggle the effect the game would be no fun.

Don't really get ya but just press the left mouse button and you're back in the game. Simple as that.

Yes, clicking the mouse to attack should do it, or /attack will do it.
