the /gamma 200(etc 1-300) not working ubuntu linux

can not make screen. brighter. is there a fix? same computer windows partition version /gamma command works.

Do you get any error on the console when trying to use gamma? What does the initial log-output say about your installed drivers, what's the performance like?
If gamma fails it should output the SDL-error, that might help in fixing the problem - I suspect, most likely, you're running with mesa not proper OpenGL drivers!!

Its the same for me.
/gamma dosent do anything.
Did test via menu also and used "Apply now".
The only thing happening then was my resolution going from 1024*768 to 1024*698

Same here, with an NVidia card. Use the driver's configuration interface, that does the job for me at least.

I had the same issue with my old graphics card(ATI). I have an NVidia now and it runs perfectly. I'm fairly sure it's just drivers issues, nothing to do with AC.
