Of course, it is easier for you, to work without talking to anyone. But when you're done, you still have to take on the toxic community, or they will simply rip you to shreds. You'll end up playing internal clan matches along the w00p clan - or you will just have wasted your time, except much more of it. Are you actually planning to reintegrate your work into the main game? (I didn't expect that - which is why I counted you out on providing another release: I was talking about a new release for AC, not for a fork)
You can't just whip up a new binary and call it a game. You need a community to bring life to it and to provide content for it. What do you think, why I spent half of my work during the last year on improvements for mappers?
It would have been easy for me, to just fork the game. But if all I have to go on is content from the "good old days", then that fork is dead before it gets started.
