What is your in game name, exactly ?
Try with a name that does not contain any special character. (like "unarmed". To change your name, type /name unarmed in the console)
So to sum everything up, please try the following in this order untilyour issue is resolved :
1) make sure you are using the latest version : type in the console and tell us what it prints (should print "version = 1202").
2) check if it works if you use a name containing only alphabetic characters
3) make sure you have no firewall rule that might block access to the masterserver
4) reinstall libcurl
