Well it does show a bit more sophistication then just flat 128 the whole way through. Changing bpm is a great way to change the mood and intensity of the mix

As a professional dj, i can say that you don't need to change the bpm's to change the mood.
You can a have a smooth track with 128 bpm and a banger with the same bpm, it's all about the knowledge you have in your track collection.
