By the way : while reading a demo, you can't skip packets. The demo structure would allow you to skip them until you reach those with the desired value of game time, but the game would be desync'd from the actual demo. You have to go through all of them.
I could say one way to improve it : disable some features until the specified time is reached. (e.g. particles).

Maybe it's just my end, but if I do a /setmr 3, for example, AC just hangs for a while, jumps around to various weird snapshots like the ones pictured, and ends up at 1mr. It's cool though, I just /gamespeed 1000 for a while.

It get these funny photos as well, but then it kicks into gear and works for me :) I actually find the setmr command super useful.
