Maybe it should be disabled in mapping/modding subforum? Or increased in time to 3-6 months? (I think it's 1 month right now)

Obviously we want to prevent bumping of old off-topic threads, but it complicates updates on user content such as maps or scripts.

Or you could just PM a mod to do it.
