Hitsound Issue
#1
Hi guys,

A hitsound issue has appeared 4 days ago when i was playing AC. I'm playing AC for 4 months now, and it's the first time i get that problem.

Some explanations : When i hit someone on server, i don't hear hitsound. I can kill someone with 7/8 bullets and hear 0 or 1 hitsound :/
It's very annoying because i used to play with hitsound and that was useful.
I tried to get demo's to show you the problem,
BUT i observed something : the problem doesn't appear on demo's :O

Can someone explain me why i got this issue now ?
If there is a fix for that ?
Maybe should i reinstall AC ?

Thank you, Gosfly.

Are you using /hitsound 1 or /hitsound 2? I'm guessing that is where the problem lies.

Im using 'when client detects hits"

So it's /hitsound 2

I never had an issue with it mate... I agree with you, is quite useful...
Try to use the /hitsound 1 "When server detects hits" and tell us if the issue still there

Ok guys, it seems to be fixed but i don't know how. I switched many times between hitsound 1 and hitsound 2 and i increased and decreased maxsoundatonce, and now it seems to work perfectly :D

Wondering this same thing, I find in the docs, it seems there is no way to do it directly in-game...
Of course, you could edit the sound file directly and go about it that way ;D

/maxsoundsatonce 100

Or with the last AC release : escape > Settings > Sounds settings

In my previous comment, I was referring to the volume level of the hitsound itself...

You can modify your sounds.cfg, but it's highly frowned upon.

I believe using custom sounds is fine providing they aren't enhanced to be louder.

I remember someone modifying footsteps to be much louder? Gave a marginal advantage.
