WARNING: could not connect
#1
Hi,

it's been a while I did not run a server but last time it was already on 1.2.0.2 and I am now getting the following error:

Apr 17 19:56:13 looking up ms.cubers.net:28760...
Apr 17 19:56:14 WARNING: could not connect

I can join the server manually typing its address but it does not get listed in the server list.

Is there something changed like server registration requirement?
I can reach the url http://ms.cubers.net/ fine from the web browser ; it returns the following which I assume is normal:

Authorization Required

This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required.

Apache/2.2.22 (Ubuntu) Server at ms.cubers.net Port 80

Any help would be great, thanks!

How many slots is the server?

Heard other server owners complain about the same thing, server doesn't register/show up in the serverlist but /connect IP port works fine.
Not sure if they got the same error message.

Same issue here, slots OK unless they just changed the maximum. Guess it's not on our end.

tried with 10 and 12 slots.

I also tried from different boxes with different configs (NAT and non NAT). Same error.

With the default -m not specified in command line I am getting:
looking up ms.cubers.net:28760...
WARNING: could not connect

When "enforcing" -massault.cubers.net (supposedly default according to doc but does not seem to be in fact) I get:
looking up assault.cubers.net:28760...
WARNING: could not connect

EDIT:

It must be master server refusing server registration (firewall rule dropping IPs?) as I just tried to change the --masterport to 80 ( --masterport=80 ) and the error is then different:
looking up ms.cubers.net:80...
WARNING: master server registration failed:
