Date: Same day 11:22PM

Ok so as soon as i entered this server all these guys started adding |FOX| to their names and asking others if they wished to join... These 5 have NEVER even talked in our guestbook/irc about joining OR applying. Also When i asked them to please take off the tag. They said "eat your nan" and called me a Nazi... I am asian... and i dont even like Nazis.

Thank you for taking care of this or even taking a look into this.

look at the screeny's above hes admin and his ping below 10

You won't have this problem on respectable servers that you keep informed about current clan members. You shouldn't play on servers that don't use a whitelist if this bothers you. If enough people stay off them, they'll probably either start using the whitelist or disappear.

We tried a whitelist but ran into a lot of problems. My servers won't let me connect with the entry:

blocki |FOX|X-Ray_Dog
blocki X-Ray_Dog
accept |FOX|X-Ray_Dog 76.233.167.228

lol, When I try a connect to my server, it doesn't let me in without admin D:


Anyways, I made the blacklist entries for Exia's report as above.

"blocki |FOX|X-Ray_Dog" is superfluous. It's already covered by "blocki X-Ray_Dog". Also, if you're connecting to your server from inside a LAN, you'll probably need "accept |FOX|X-Ray_Dog 192.168.0.0/16" or whatever your internal IP range is.

Here's a question for the mods really I guess, we have nick blacklists on servers which would of prevented someone joining with a name like third riech but a server by the same name can register on the MS. Can we not apply the same kind of thing to server names, I know it would not of stopped the above abuse, but these people are like children if you take away some of their fun they will probably move on and take their racist views with them?

just a question, also Mods feel free to move this if you feel its in the wrong place.

It's a valid question. ATM the functionality is not there, but I'm sure it could be implemented. However, I'm not sure about how far the Dev team wants to go down the censorship route. I feel OK about removing servers when the owner oversteps the line on decency, but automatic censorship across the whole game, to me, seems a little too Big Brother. It's a very fine distinction, I know, but it makes a lot of difference to me.

Or, more likely, they'll change the name slightly, to Th!rd Re!ch or something, to get around the auto-ban. I'll see if I can do better by sending a list of the server names he used to his ISP.

Thanks Jamz, I would hope as his ISP is BT they would act, I am a little sadened to see its an idiot from the UK thats doing this though.

Aye, connect to your server and look at what it thinks your IP address is. I'm always surprised when I do that. XD And, as jamz said, use a range ("/16") in case your IP changes a bit.
